Live For Yourself First - The Goal Is A By-Product

Posted By Mary on November 30, 2009

We all know that we should set goals. This is paramount to our very existence. However, the first and quite often over-looked fact is, that we should live for ourselves FIRST! The goal should be the by-product, not a means in itself.

This means that the first step should be finding your own passion. And then setting the goals along the way. For if we set goals which we DO NOT feel passionate about, we are almost guaranteeing certain failure.

Whilst some smaller goals, such as turning out that neglected cupboard, will be achieved, I am speaking about major goals in your life. What do you REALLY want to achieve and more importantly why?

By asking yourself these two questions you will have taken the first steps to finding your passion. If you answered that you want a Millionaire Lifestyle, then ask yourself why? What is it about a Millionaire Lifestyle which excites you, arouses a deep passion within your inner most being?

It is not enough just to state that you want a Millionaire Lifestyle, for unless you find your TRUE passion. Merely setting a goal to make a million dollars will not necessarily ensure you achieve your goal.

It is the passion with which you imbue your goals, which will bring them to a successful ending. And that means finding out what is YOUR true inner most feelings. What YOU most desire in life and why.

It isn’t hard, though it may take some practice at first, to start to live for yourself first. Neither, I hasten to add, is it at all selfish to live for yourself first. It isn’t wrong to put yourself first. Although many of us have been taught to put others first, we can only really help others by finding our own true passion in life.

Many people believe the late great Mother Teresa acted in a totally unselfish way but study her life story and you will find that she WANTED to go and help the less fortunate. This was HER PASSION. That she was a marvelous, wonderful woman is beyond question. However, she is a fine example of someone who really did put herself first, her passion, her life was a total epitomization of putting herself first. And I am sure you will all agree she wasn’t in any way a selfish, egotistical person.

So, stop and think about YOUR life. What do you really want to do? Once you have reached an answer to this question, then ask - What are your real goals? Why do you want to reach them?

I appreciate that it may take sometime to really find what is your true purpose in life. One way to aid discovery of your true self is to practice daily *meditation.(click here Energy Center Clearing.)

Through meditation we can find not only relief from stress but our true life path. Once that has been discovered, then and only then, can we really achieve a Millionaire Lifestyle. And remember, live for yourself first, then set your goals according to what you discover about yourself.

Start your journey of self-discovery now, meditate daily, start living for yourself and your goals will become an achievable by-product.
